Resilience Capital Ventures Recognized For Taking Investment to Bypassed Communities
In August 2024, founder and Chief Executive of RCV, Dr. Gillian Marcelle was recognized by earning inclusion in the fourth annual Forbes Fifty Over Fifty Investment List.
It is her approach to blended finance that draws on academia, economic development and high finance and track record in mobilizing capital, which captured the attention of the Forbes community.
Dr. Gillian Marcelle blends practices from finance, sustainable development and academia in her approach to economic development in places establishment investment has bypassed. Prior to founding Resilience Capital Ventures in 2018, Marcelle has helped turn around an economic development agency in the U.S. Virgin Islands, doubling the incoming investment and creating value of $70 million per annum despite two Category 5 hurricanes hitting the region, and raising more than $5 million in social impact grants. She started her career in mergers and acquisitions for British telecom giant BT Group and went on to work for JPMorgan and the private sector arm of the World Bank.

About Forbes 50 Over 50
The Fourth Annual 50 Over 50 list was curated from thousands of entrants across four categories: Lifestyle, Impact, Innovation, and Investment.
Seven expert judges who are list alumnae—including entrepreneurs Suze Orman and Laura Geller, venture capitalist Theresia Gouw, and AnitaB.org president Brenda Darden Wilkerson—selected the finalists, 50 in each category. The result of this work is a collection of groundbreaking women who understand that age and experience can be the best tools for success and that, ultimately, there is no deadline for becoming who you are meant to be.
