Bryan Joseph
Bryan Joseph is an actuary and the contingent risk and capital management specialist at Resilience Capital Ventures where he supports the identification, analysis, financing and control of Environmental and Climate risks.
He is a subject matter expert focusing on the blending of risk and capital, and the design and development of financial structures to fund risks. Bryan focuses on the design, build, finance and operational phases of infrastructure projects by engineering solutions to protect investments being made. His specializations include design of contingent interest payments, and protection of the natural environment including for example coral reefs and mangrove swamps.
He has considerable experience operating globally. He led a global business with 3000 professional staff in 36 countries, and worked in a diverse range of countries, including Australia, Singapore, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Switzerland, Malaysia, Finland, the UAE, Dubai, and Poland.
Bryan has pursued a non-executive career where he is currently the Chair of XL Insurance Company SE, one of the largest commercial insurers focused on Europe and Asia. He also sits on the Board of several subsidiaries of AXA S.A. In addition, he has also established Vario Partners LLP, his own insurance linked securities design, financing, and development partnership. This firm assists businesses and governments in accessing the market for contingent insurance structures including parametric products that are used when there is limited data and information available to price risk on an indemnity basis.
Bryan is a Fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries in the UK.
