Alex Ou Young

Alex Ou Young, is the Senior Project Management specialist at Resilience Capital Ventures where he provides value as an accomplished certified procurement and project management professional with extensive experience directing projects and programs in challenging environments. 

He is a subject area specialist in supply chain logistics, and procurement management having completed projects with Ernst and Young in Suriname and Trinidad and Tobago. His early career includes policy development and project management as a public servant for the Government of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago where he was responsible for large infrastructure projects. He also worked with the Turks and Caicos Islands Government, the UVI RT Park (a specialist economic development agency in the US Virgin Islands) and in the rock band ‘5 Miles to Midnight’ where he is a founder. 

Alex has a proven track record of success where he has applied a vision-driven approach to decision making, strategic planning, and tactical implementation. He has demonstrated his ability to build, lead, and support multicultural internal and external teams, leading key projects, and streamlining processes. He has specific expertise in analyzing procurement requirements, liaising with suppliers, identifying cost effective sourcing, improving processes, forecasting supply demand, optimizing revenue growth, and resolving complex problems and issues. 

He has developed procurement manuals, presentations, and training material for contractors and suppliers throughout the Caribbean and South America.

Alex completed the MSc in Supply Chain Management from the University of Liverpool. In addition, he holds CIPS and PMP certifications. He draws on his communication, negotiation, presentation, and problem-solving skills to foster robust professional relationships with key stakeholders, suppliers, and clients. While others take pride in meeting all standards set before them, Alex is passionate about delivering service that goes beyond organizational expectations, creating win-win outcomes for everyone involved.
